A Walk Down Memory Lane: An Altered Book Project

According to Caryn, during the Altered Book workshops, participants transform existing printed books into unique treasures reflecting a specific theme. Simple techniques are taught to alter the pages of each book using glue, scissors, paint, and collage materials so that everyone can communicate their thoughts and feelings. Those who may be reticent at visual self-expression and those who identify as creatives engage in a collaborative process together. 

My part in this was to create the layout for the most recent booklet for Caryn. This was a series of 12 pages. We discussed how she would like the book to be displayed as well as highlighting each of her individual artists who created their own altered book.
